To benefit producers and help increase the quantity and quality of information about the environmental benefits of properly managing spent batteries, Erion Energy used a specific tool to calculate these impacts in 2024.

The proper treatment of the almost 6,000 tonnes of batteries managed by Erion Energy saved more than 2 million kWh of electricity, prevented the consumption of over 800,000 cubic metres of water, and avoided the emission of over 800 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent into the atmosphere.

Erion Energy has distinguished itself through its effective institutional advocacy, helping to streamline Extended Producer Responsibility legislation. A notable achievement was the introduction of the ‘pay on behalf’ system, which allows online marketplaces to declare and pay environmental contributions on behalf of third-party seller.

In addition to ongoing dialogue with institutions, there are also initiatives to directly involve citizens. One such initiative is ‘Energia al Cubo’, now in its third edition in 2024. This project has involved several Italian municipalities in organizing events aimed primarily at schools, where training activities teach young children the importance of proper battery recycling.
