Household WEEE

In 2020, the “formal” Italian WEEE System handled 365,897 tons, an increase of 6.7% compared to 2019. With respect to the overall figures, Erion WEEE qualified itself as leader in Italy in the Household WEEE sector with a total of 262,351 tons of waste managed in 2020, an increase of 9.3% over 2019 with a market share of 71.7%

Particularly significant is the comparison by single Group: in 2020 Erion WEEE was the first Collective Scheme for quantities of WEEE managed for the Groups R1, R2 and R3, with a share of respectively 81.9%, 89.5% and 71.1% of the total volumes. Then follow Groups R4 and R5, for which Erion WEEE holds a share of 33.2% and 5.8% respectively.

As for the geographical distribution, 51.4% of the waste managed by Erion comes from the Northern Italian regions with 135,052 tons of Household WEEE, while the South and the Islands account for 27.4% of the total with 71,771 tons. The regions of Central Italy close the ranking with 21.2%, corresponding to 55,529 tons.
