Household WEEE

In 2022, the Italian “formal” WEEE system managed 361,381 tons, experiencing a decrease of -6.2% compared to 2021. Erion WEEE has positioned itself as a leader in Italy’s Household WEEE sector, managing a total of 246,246 tons of waste in 2022, which represents an 8% decrease from 2021, with a responsibility share of 68%.

Compared to the previous year, the data for 2022 shows an improvement in the R5 Group (+17.0%), while experiencing a decline in the R1 (-2%), R2 (-9%), R3 (-10%), and R4 (-17%) Groups. This noticeable reduction can be attributed to the low inclination of citizens to properly dispose of electrical and electronic waste, especially small WEEE (R4), as well as the development of parallel channels that divert significant volumes of Household WEEE from the national management system coordinated by the Centro di Coordinamento RAEE.
