Household
WEEE

Erion WEEE established itself as a leader in Italy in the Household WEEE sector with a total of 232,023 tons of waste managed in 2023, down approximately 6% from 2022 and with a responsibility share of 67%.

The reduction is primarily due to lower collection volumes of Group R3 (TVs and monitors), which, after forced growth in previous years driven by the introduction of the “TV scrappage bonus,” experienced a 31% decrease compared to 2022. The contraction in collection also affected Groups R1 (-3%) and R4 (-7%). Major appliances (R2) and light sources (R5), however, ended the year positively, recording an increase in managed volumes of 3% and 18%, respectively. Contributing to the reduction in managed volumes are the low propensity of citizens to properly dispose of electrical and electronic waste and the development of parallel channels that divert significant volumes of Household WEEE from the national management system that refers to the Italian WEEE Clearing House (CdC RAEE).
