This increase was primarily driven by higher collection volumes in Groups R4 and R2, which grew by 6% and 5% respectively. There was also a slight increase in Group R1 (+2.4%). In contrast, collection volumes decreased by 8% and 4% in Groups R3 and R5, respectively.
The quantities managed by Erion WEEE have evolved in line with national-level reports by the WEEE Clearing House. The decrease in Group R3 is due to the termination of the ‘TV scrappage bonus’, which significantly impacted sales of new equipment in 2021–22.
Although 54% of Erion WEEE’s Collecting Points are located in Northern Italy, they are distributed throughout the country. Southern Italy and the Islands account for 30%, and Central Italy for the remaining 16%.
